What this draft slot returns.
Base rate for the exact pick, a history, never a forecastdraft-position study · 2026-07-14-prospect-translation-v2.32
2020 draft#84round 3 · NJD
Rates: insufficient sample (n=10 of 32): no NHLer/impact/star/stayer rate shown for this cohort.
Sample: 10 players taken #84, drawn only from classes old enough to judge, on the Schuckers-style pick curve published on Draft Value. A base rate describes a slot, not a person: it cannot predict this career and is not used to grade it.
Floor rule: rates below a minimum sample are suppressed, not shown thin. Exact slot needs 12+ players, the pooled pick-curve band needs 32+, matching this site's builders to the nhl-draft-intel engine's own bucket-calibration floors (12 / 18 / 32).

Selection rule. Goaltenders only; career games played within ±20% of 55 (or ±10 games, whichever band is wider: 44 to 66); then the five nearest by career SV%, ties broken by the closest games played. The pool is the 1,162 players in this site's NHL dossier set who own at least one official regular-season game: 5 of them cleared the band.

Similar career shape is not similar player. The rule matches volume and rate only; it knows nothing about era, position within the group, usage or role, and two careers can land on the same line for opposite reasons.

Method: every figure and every percentile on this panel is published by the NHL Edge endpoint. This site converts nothing and ranks nothing. The percentile column is the league's own, against the tracked population for 2025-26. Speeds arrive in mph and km/h; distance is read in kilometres with the mile conversion stated beside it. Tracked seasons on file for this player: 2021-22, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26.

Method: goals, shots on goal and missed shots are attributed to the goaltender the feed says was in the net (details.goalieInNetId). Blocked shots are excluded, the puck never reached a goaltender, and empty-net events are excluded, because there was no goaltender to charge. Shooting percentage is goals divided by shots on goal, the league definition, in which shots on goal already include goals. The two board thresholds (3+ goals; 10+ shots at 15% or worse) are ported from the source project and printed here rather than left implicit. This is a count of what happened, not a rating of the goaltender.
