Who has the crease.
The board
Every goaltender who carried a season.
counted, not modelledTen dots, one per start. Mint is a win, coral a loss, hollow an overtime loss. The line beside them is save percentage across those same ten nights.
Role labels use each goalie's share of 2025-26 starts by the current club pool, including prior clubs. Starter means at least 55%; tandem means 30% to under 55%; backup means under 30% or no share on file. These groups do not confirm current roles.
The splits
Home, road, and how much rest.
five buckets, one goaltenderEach tile is one goaltender. The tick is the season save percentage. Bars above it are better than the season, bars below it worse. A bucket of fewer than three appearances is printed but not drawn.
NHL Edge
What the league's own tracking says.
four endpointsHigh danger is the league's own locationCode: high bucket. The chip beside a figure is the percentile the league published with it.
Shooter versus goaltender
Who owns whom.
counted, not ratedThese four established boards cover three seasons and retain their shot denominators. The separate 2025-26 retained-event notebook below now adds verified pre-goal score state and supported distance, but stays goal-only: it prints raw supported-goal fractions and never invents a shot rate.
The boundary
What this page will not do.
- It does not invent a starter. When the source carries no games the board says the league is dark and prints the reason.
- It does not rank goaltenders by a single number. Save percentage, goals-against average, wins and the last ten nights are four separate columns, sorted one at a time.
- It does not convert or blend NHL Edge figures. They keep the league's field names and the league's percentiles.
- It does not treat a projected starter as a confirmed one. The basis is printed on every club.
Common questions about the crease.
What readers ask when they arrive here at six in the evening. Every answer is the rule the build actually follows.
When are tonight's starters posted?
They are read from Daily Faceoff at build time, carrying that source's own Confirmed, Probable, Unconfirmed, Projected and Unknown labels. On a night with no slate the board reports itself dark and prints the reason instead of publishing an empty list.
Who is my club's projected starter?
The crease wall carries all 32 clubs. The basis is printed on each one: the club's own projected lineup file where there is one, and otherwise the goaltender who started most in 2025-26.
Which goaltenders make the board?
The same volume rule the fantasy desk uses: 15 or more games in 2025-26, or 40 across the three-season window. That keeps a hot twelve-start backup from leading the page.
Is there a single goalie rating here?
No. Save percentage, goals-against average, wins and the last ten nights are four separate columns, sorted one at a time. Nothing is blended into a score.
