# 2026 NHL Draft Player Profiles

The Profiles page is a minimalist public reading surface for the consensus top 100 prospects in the local 2026 NHL Draft export. It is ordered by the consolidated consensus rank and uses the same public data boundary as the rest of Hockey Insights Draft: local EliteProspects-derived player fields, local stat rows, local rank rows, NHL Central Scouting context, NHL Combine invite context, and curated public source metadata.

## What It Includes

Each profile card shows consensus rank, player bio basics, current team and league, a short scouting-style commentary blurb, latest regular-season stat context, source range, and links back to the interactive board drawer and season database rows. A "Scout's notebook" section leads with an attributed pull-quote from a coach, general manager, or scout (speaker, role, source, date, and a link to the source), followed by a sourced fun-fact tidbit and the remaining cited references. As of June 11, 2026, 96 of the top 100 carry two or more verified current-cycle quotes and 88 carry a sourced tidbit. CHL players show a WHL, OHL, QMJHL, or CHL Import Draft path where a public biography row provides a verifiable draft selection.

## Source Notes

The separate `data/player_profiles_2026.json` layer keeps generated fields and researched notes apart. Generated fields, including the commentary blurbs, can be rebuilt from the local static JSON and curated public-note metadata. Researched quotes, tidbits, and analyst references are curated with source name, author, URL, date, note type, speaker attribution, and confidence, and every quote is checked verbatim against its cited source before publishing — nothing is paraphrased into a fabricated quote.
