# 2026 NHL Mock Draft Room

Last updated: 2026-06-09.

The Mock Draft page is an on-the-clock first-round simulator for the 2026 NHL Draft. It walks pick-by-pick through the real reconciled 2026 first-round order, including acquired-via-trade slots, with a team-colored clock banner showing whichever club is currently selecting.

## How A Mock Works

Users draft any prospect from the consensus best-available pool, search the pool by name, auto-pick the best available player, simulate the rest of the round, or undo the last selection. Best-available ordering follows the local consensus ranking and shrinks as players come off the board.

## Draft Order Boundary

The pick order comes from the same local 2026 draft-order data as the homepage: round and pick order with traded-pick context, reconciled against current public NHL.com and Tankathon order. The simulator does not invent picks and does not change the underlying order data.

## Saving And Sharing

A mock in progress is saved to the user's own browser storage and restored on return. A share link encodes the picks in the URL so another device can load the same board. The static site never publishes private browser storage unless the user chooses to copy a link.
