# Hockey research desk

Insights is the starting point for this season's live figures and for finding a research tool. It is not a second player dashboard, team dashboard or organization ranking. Each linked destination answers a different question and keeps its own sources, coverage dates and limitations.

## This season, as filed

The page opens on three dated cards: the next slate on the official schedule, in the reader's own time zone; the scoring runs still alive after the latest filed game; and the clubs on a winning or winless run, counted from filed results. Each card names its source and date. None is a forecast.

## Player and NHL club records

The [player directory](/players/) leads to individual season and career records, game logs and player analysis. Existing player pages remain unchanged by this consolidation. The [team directory](/team/) leads to NHL club pages focused on rosters, results, schedules and season analysis. A compact pipeline summary connects each NHL club to its development tool.

## Organization development

[Team Pipeline](/team-pipeline/) is the primary destination for prospects, U24 NHL players, draft capital and club comparisons. Its filters define the population being compared. Age profiles, retained rights records and homegrown cap context formerly shown in Team Hub now appear here as separate, dated context. Those historical populations are not added to current roster totals. Recorded rights deadlines do not confirm current contractual status. Homegrown cap share measures spending on club-drafted players, not the percentage of the roster or the quality of development.

Old Team Hub links carry their selected club into Team Pipeline. Its older arrival-outlook presentation has been retired rather than combined with newer model outputs.

## Historical development

[Class Pulse](/class-pulse/) compares draft selections with historical players at similar draft positions and the same development stage. Players remain credited to the club that selected them even after a trade. It is a dated historical snapshot, not live class movement or a current young roster. Trajectory groups display exported career-value estimates, with scores within a one-point range grouped for presentation. That convention is not statistical certainty or a numbered redraft recommendation.

## Research retained in Insights

Player-opponent scoring splits, the historical peak-age study, observed opportunity and finishing study, and NHL EDGE leader view remain available in expandable sections because they do not have better standalone homes. They retain their source and population boundaries. Other tools, including draft history, matchup research, streaks, pick ownership, fantasy analysis and Stanley Cup history, are linked directly. Consult [About the data](/about-data/) before comparing outputs from different studies.
