# Fantasy, 2026-27

In season, /fantasy/ opens on the 2026-27 season so far. It lists the top skaters and goaltenders under the scoring format the reader picks (ESPN, Yahoo, Fantrax, Yahoo rotisserie or H2H points). Beside them are the last seven days and the current fantasy week's four-game and off-night-heavy clubs. The lines come from every completed game in the NHL's official per-game logs, the same files the Ranker reads, written nightly to data/fantasy_now_2027.json. A point total is the counts times the format's published values. Rotisserie has no single score, so its list sorts by points and prints the six categories. Nothing is projected.

Below that sits the preseason board, built September 29 before opening night. It does not move in season.

The preseason board ranks players for 2026-27 fantasy drafts from three seasons of NHL per-game logs: 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26. The pool is 400 skaters and 61 goaltenders. Hits and blocked shots are read from per-game event data where it exists. The page prints the build date recorded in its data file, data/fantasy_2027.json, and each receipt reads its date from the file it describes.

What it computes, with the construction shown on the page:

- Fantasy points per game under ESPN, Yahoo and a commonly-cited Fantrax baseline, plus Yahoo rotisserie category z-scores. Every scoring table carries its source link, capture date and a verified or commonly-cited badge.
- A Hockey Insights rank per format from a blended fantasy-points-per-game rate: 60% 2025-26, 30% 2024-25 and 10% 2023-24, renormalized when a season falls under 20 games. There is no hidden composite, and rotisserie ranks show every category z-score.
- One board uses a games figure. The H2H board multiplies the blended ESPN points per game by the player's 2025-26 games played over 82, scaled to the 84-game 2026-27 schedule and capped at 84, then rounds the product to whole points. A skater with no 2025-26 games has no games figure and ranks below every skater who has one. Goalies keep the ESPN points order on that view.
- First-half versus second-half splits at the league schedule midpoint, three-season trend slopes, and new-team flags from summer 2026 trades and signings checked against current NHL rosters.
- A player the roster data does not list on a 2026-27 NHL roster carries a no roster tag. His club is printed as his last club, and he takes no club filter or club colours.
- A market comparison against four published boards, each with its capture date: ESPN (July 17, 2026), NHL.com (August 26), Daily Faceoff (August 22) and CBS Sports (August 13). The value column is the gap between our rank and the market's, in both directions.

Rookies with no NHL games appear separately as consensus placements only, clearly marked. No rank is invented for a player without a sample. A device-local watchlist filters the board.
