# NHL Draft History Archive

Draft History is the static archive route for NHL draft picks from 1990 through 2025. It helps answer historical questions that current prospect pages cannot answer cleanly: which team selected a player, whether a pick changed hands, what status the player eventually reached, and how draft outcomes compare by year, round, pick band, team, position, or status.

## What It Includes

The current archive covers 36 drafts and 8,518 picks. The page can filter by year range, pick range, round, team, position, traded-pick status, player search, and status. Useful filter state is preserved in the URL so historical views can be shared.

## What It Is Not

The archive is not a forecast for the 2026 class and it does not change the public ranking source shown on the current draft board. It is a historical reference layer for users comparing previous draft classes, first rounds, team histories, or later-round outcomes.
